Each semester a beautiful bunch of international students arrive in Plovdiv from all over the world. ESN Plovdiv takes care of all the international students who come here and helps integrate them with student life and the Bulgarian culture. Being a buddy simply means helping make the international students’ arrival and stay in Plovdiv as easy as possible. As a buddy, you will be assigned a student. From there, you will contact the student and answer some questions that they may have about living in Plovdiv. Buddies help the international students upon arrival by meeting up with them and showing the student apartment. Like most institutions, ESN also arranges an introduction week for the new students that include a diverse variety of activities which, of course, buddies are welcome to participate. 

Being a buddy is a great opportunity and an awesome experience to help an international student adjust to living in Plovdiv. In addition to the rewarding connections that you will make with students from different cultures, you will also get the change to practice your language skills (most likely in English) and participate in a student organization that is highly recognized locally, nationally, and internationally. Who knows, maybe you will meet an international student who turns out to be a close friend! We organize a kick-off and a Thank-You party as an appreciation for all our dear buddies.

After all buddies have got an student they contact them to answer any possible questions and to report arrival day to us in the ESN board. The buddies are also responsible for the student to get picked up.
